PTSD & Trauma Recovery

Understanding Trauma

Trauma can come from a single event or repeated experiences that overwhelm your sense of safety. Even long after the event has passed, the body and mind may continue to react as if the danger is still present. This can affect your emotions, relationships, sleep, and ability to feel grounded.

What PTSD Can Look Like

PTSD doesn’t look the same for everyone, but common symptoms may include:
• Intrusive memories or flashbacks
• Avoiding people, places, or reminders of the event
• Feeling on edge, tense, or easily startled
• Nightmares or disrupted sleep
• Emotional numbness or detachment
• Difficulty trusting or feeling safe

These reactions are not signs of weakness—they are the brain and body’s natural response to overwhelming stress.

How Healing Happens

Recovery starts with feeling safe, supported, and understood. My approach to trauma and PTSD includes:
• Trauma-informed therapy and grounding skills
• Mind–body techniques to help regulate the nervous system
• Support in understanding triggers and emotional patterns
• Medication management when appropriate

Together, we work gently and at your pace, helping you rebuild a sense of control, reconnect with yourself, and move toward a life that feels calmer and more secure.
